Route Plan for Kathmandu, Nepal from my location Baranagar, Kolkata, West Bengal, India:

Nepal Diary on My Honda Activa: Preparation

To torn up the monotony and boredom of daily routine I have planned a tour to Nepal, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, but not in a traditional way. I have decided to cover the whole route from my location Kolkata to Kathmandu and back on my 6 years old Honda Activa scooter. Initially it was very hard to prepare my mind for this risky journey because the total distance I have to cover is nearly 2200 km and within which more or less 500 km is through the mountain. Moreover, though there are several experience of car trips or bike trips to Nepal have been shared in internet but no scooter trip is recorded. I have asked some of my friends to accompany me in this journey but for reasonable cause they have refused. No one is mad like me...ha ha ha!!! But somehow one of my students Mr. Debdeep Banerjee from the Dept. of Computer Science Engineering of Techno India College of Technology came to know about the trip and determine to be with me in this dangerous trip to the Land of Snowy Moun

A trip for a French Kiss: Chandannagar, West Bengal

Chandannagar Strand In a pleasant morning of February 2017, me and my friend Prof.Suman Bhattachary have started for Chandannagar, the last French colony in Hoogly district of West Bengal.  Chandannagar was established as a French colony in 1673, when the French obtained permission from Ibrahim Khan, the Nawab of Bengal, to establish a trading post on the right bank of the Hooghli River. Bengal was then a province of the Mughal Empire. It became a permanent French settlement in 1688, and in 1730 Joseph François Dupleix was appointed governor of the city, during whose administration more than two thousand brick houses were erected in the town and a considerable maritime trade was carried on. For a time, Chandannagar was the main center for European commerce in Bengal. (From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chandannagar) India became independent from Britain in 1947. In June 1948 the French Government held a plebiscite which found that 97% of Chandannagar's residents wis

Ready to roar This is my Honda Activa DLX 110 cc scooter of the year 2011...but still as young as its early days. Without some tyre puncture problem it never ever has put me in any kind of trouble. Almost full metal body makes it as strong as a stallion...unbeatable and powerful 110 cc engine has overcome many off-roads....I depend and rely on it. Thanks to Honda !!

Ichhe Hawa: Shelter for My Mind & Soul

Mist is accumulating: Kolakham at Neora Valley National Park, Darjeeling, West Bengal We all sometime pass through some dark phases in our life. Mind is restless...concentration is vanished...always feeling disturbed or angry without any or some trivial reason even on very close ones...in one sentence, totally ruptured state of mind. My remedy for such condition is...unleash your all desire....take out yourself from your comfort zone...melt your soul into the cauldron of universal humanity....mark the road with your footprint, enjoy the nature, love the people and embrace the danger to win it. I like these few lines from two loving poets of mine: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less travelled by, And that has made all the difference. -           The Road Not Taken    by    Robert Frost
